Mental health and substance abuse disorders affect people of all countries
The world has long been a frightening, sad place for many of its citizens and it appears that things aren’t getting any better as we struggle through the first quarter of the twenty-first century. According to statistics released recently by Our World in Data, 1.1 billion people, or more than 15 percent of the world’s population, have some type of mental health or substance abuse disorder. No nation is immune.
